Not only Turkey but other European countries are willing to bypass US sanctions and import oil from Iran. According to Channel8, Eurostat data also revealed that Bulgaria and Poland were the two EU members importing oil from Iran this year.
This is an interesting development and I hope this trend grows even stronger.
Isn't there a pipeline from Russia going through Poland via Ukraine? Or is it gas?
Druzhba pipeline though the Polish and Ukrainian lines are connected in Belarus.
That must be the one I was thinking about. So is it not enough or what?
No idea, although there were plans for expanding it not long ago.
Supplies via the Druzhba pipeline were stopped in February 2023, just a day after Poland delivered its first Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
The imports stopped and that could be seen here in the graph as well.
