No. Only widdle baby pigs get shown such leniency for abuse of power like this.

The linked study is using violence to mean either physical violence or sexual violence. Within the context of this definition the argument could be correct but it is meaningless. I don't know why they didn't go towards the more obvious conclusion that incels are an online community of shut-ins which hinders their ability to organise collectively. But the shit that they do like hate speech, doxxing etc., things that are possible to be collectively done online, should be considered violence in my opinion and it is impacts that are measurably detrimental.

But who is she supposed to be? I've only seen screenshots of Twitter posts from her.

Who is this person?

Folks are laughing at the prank calls but if a kkkop harrassed me like this I'd be pretty shook

Koreader on my kobo ereaders is straight up faster than the default interface. It has, among others, a nice feature where if you are reading a comic book file, it can conveniently trim off at the edges of the page which makes reading manga a little bit easier.

It's not how open source works but how venture funding works which is boggling minds here

So apparently the only way you can filter out these people who don't "give enough fucks" about petrol is by raising prices. Otherwise no-fuck-giving people will endure an hour long line just to be able to buy this petrol they don't really need.

If you tell him it's a bad idea he'll call you a paedophile

Git is decentralised by nature. It's what allows mirroring the repo on other forges even when git repos are hosted on proprietary platforms like GitHub.

Liverpool are supposedly ideologically similar to Celtic. Bill Shankly, the club's most iconic figure, was a socialist and the Liverpoil area in general is a Labour stronghold because Thatcher tried to choke them out with here neoliberal austerity.

Then Steven Gerrard chose to manage Rangers, Celtic's loyalist rivals. I am glad his coaching career crashed and burned after that.

Here in India, media is a tool of the fascists. I am ashamed to say it but the concept of journalistic standards is alien to the audience here. The media literally parrots the IOF line, to such a degree of precision that makes me think that I underestimated the sheer evil that can exist in the heart of human beings.

But India is a kind of a special case in the Global South, since its an Islamophobic Hindu fascist state and the preposterous IOF talking points slot well with the racist talking points.

But I am wondering what the situation is like everywhere else. Please fill me in.

Meanwhile Canada continues to be a parody of itself:

All public torrents I have found are dead. Anyone knows a place where I can find this movie in decent quality? (At least 1080p.) Thanks.

Anyone tried it? Thoughts?

spoilerLooks like it is gonna be your typical Persona type game with element based turn based combat and social links. Don't mind that though. Always welcome fresh Persona slop.

There are some mechanic changes which seem nice.

The game kinda turns the concept of fantasy around where the protag holds dear a fantasy book, but the fantasy is essentially a story of our (human) world. And the powerful boss monsters in the game are called humans. Personally I don't like this. I find it a bit immersion breaking. But maybe it will grow on me.

And yeah the performance on my laptop feels a bit lacking. Only a gtx 1650 and i5 processor but the game cannot consistently maintain 60 on low or intermediate graphics. I will try it on PS5 later and see if it runs well.

I downloaded it a few days ago. My first impression is good so far. I don't like strategy games because of monke brain but with this one I've been having fun.

The battle system is novel as far as I know. At first I was a bit disappointed that you don't get to control individual characters but I've grown to like the system since then. I am playing on "tactical" difficulty and I retried the first battle three times to get it "right".

It has the usual JRPG (a little bit nauseating) pro-monarchy premise which TBH I don't mind in fantasy settings, but it feels tired and uncreative. But I have been able to look past that because the rest of the game is fine. The animations look really nice without needing much sophistication. The English voice acting was a bit cringe so I switched to the Japanese one.

I don't know if the game will be able to grab me till the end (unlikely because of commitment issues) but it is a nice surprise to be sure.

News article: https://www.msn.com/en-in/money/news/google-backed-dotpe-s-apis-expose-sensitive-data/ar-AA1ra3xx

This startup provides a shitty digital menu for restaurants. You scan a qr code that takes you to a terrible website where you submit your order. Once its ready the waiter brings it to you.

Someone opened their ordering webpage on a PC and looked at the API calls being made using their browser's dev tools. Turns out the entire API is public. This person was able to order on behalf of another table and view records of all the sales that took place at the restaurant.

The funniest thing is, instead of disclosing this to DotPe, the person instead wrote a blog post and posted it on Hacker News for the updoots. While describing this situation as a "vulnerability" feels extremely charitable, I think he should have covered his bases to avoid lawsuits.

Truly a conundrum. Us Westerners are just sitting with our hands folded as large swathes of Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya and Palestine have been rendered uninhabitable over the last half century for reasons unknown to man. The white man's is truly a heavy burden to bear.

Yesterday I accidentally wiped my Firefox profile. Upon creating a new one I was hit with the realisation of just how many shit defaults Firefox has. This made me consider using a fork which un-enshittifies Firefox.

There is only one that I know of, LibreWolf. Thankfully it seems actively maintained. So on Windows I have started using that for now. On Linux I still use Firefox because the enlightened repository maintainers don't allow any Firefox/Chromium forks and I don't wanna use Flatpak or pacakge it myself.

Are there any other forks worth considering?

Damn, that sucks. The French should have taken up Louverture on his offer instead of backstabbing him, then.

As it turns out, the Wikipedia page is shockingly wrong/misleading. The new Haitian government specifically carried out a vengeful campaign against the French whites including the poor “Petit-Blancs” who didn’t own slaves but largely supported slavery and white supremacy throughout the colony’s history, at some points even more fanatically than their rich counterparts (there was genuine threat of a mass revolt from them when the colonial government wanted to grant more rights to free mixed-race Haitians). Polish soldiers who assisted the revolution and German farmers on the island were spared, as well as non-French nationals (a common if unverified story is a white Frenchman who survived by pretending to be American).

This isn’t to say genocide under any circumstance is “okay” but I’m don’t think anyone is under any position to lecture people who were put under the sheer inhumanity of Caribbean sugar cane plantation system in particular or Transatlantic slavery in general. To say nothing of the depraved lengths the French, slave-owning or not, went to to preserve slavery in the revolutionary war (such as, as some in the comments point out, reprisal massacres, mass rapes, feeding prisoners to dogs, etc). It’s also inaccurate to say this was done only out of revenge when the fear of white French petitionining to have France reinvade was very real (as had happened). Even then, Dessalines’ mandate was far from uncontroversial or even universally-enforced. As with other things, this falls solely on France which has not even pretended to pay back the damage it has done to Haiti before, during and after the revolution.

Also, though rightoids and fashies like this guy are expected, it’s funny to see more liberal whites pearl-clutch over the 1804 massacres but somehow handwave the rest of the period as “simply another time”. You’re sure to find them under any post about the Haitian revolution bringing it up but if you bring up the fact that the American Founding Fathers were slave-owning, genocidal hypocrites on any post commemorating the 4th of July, you’re suddenly a party-pooper who doesn’t understand history.
