I think you mean calico ones, but I'm pretty sure it does apply to others

It's not 100% but kids are still in favour of them being females

I'm sorry, but you are definitely wrong. At least for this kind of coloration this rule doesn't apply. Had a few tomcats who looked like the ones in the picture.
