Jesus, the comments here are abysmal from what I can tell.

I'm no doomer, but we need to do something about this, even on the grassroots level.

Basically, the latter. To me, it's someone that just throws their hands up in the air and says, "Fuck it! It's all useless!" Frankly, even I am guilty of this sometimes...
