Okay, on the one side: yes precautions (and penalties) to preserve history are necessary. On the other, Churchill has effectively zero economy beyond tourism and this is absolutely necessary to support the community.
I've been to some Thule ruins -- much older than the ones in this article -- and they were very cool. But we basically did footprints and photos. But it was entirely worth it because I learned something about the history of the north.
