Hexbear is well known for being good faith in those type of situations.
Other instances seem to have little issue with Hexbear.
Oh yes, just mean ol' world
Yep, Hexbear defederated from Blahaj because Blahaj accused Hexbear's trans users of "faking transness" and Blahaj defended chasers. I'm not trans, I'm not in any position to tell Hexbear's trans users what they should or shouldn't be offended by, but it seems like a reasonable reason to defederate from blahaj to me.
You put quotes there as if you're actually quoting someone (the admin, a moderator?); but I generally remember the drama around hex-blahaj defederation, and absolutely do not remember this part. It is also not mentioned in the links you provide elsewhere ITT.
This happened around the same time as everything else, escalating to defederation.
No it didn't. The thread you linked is from January 2024, whereas Hexbear defederated from Blahaj already in August 2023. Even one of the comments there says "Is also deeply offended by hexbear just existing even though they defederated months ago".
Are you lying or just don't care to double-check your accusations?
I'd also point out that it's literally just one user's comments, which are now deleted by Blahaj mods, and not an actual admin's or mod's comments. Hardly relevant to characterising a whole large instance.
To add to my previous comment, I've just noticed your comment down below, making an even more explicit accusations against Blahaj: "some of Blahaj’s mods to attack Hexbear’s trans users by questioning the validity of their identity". It wasn't "some mods", it wasn't even one single mod, it was one random user.
You're spreading a nasty lie, and when revealed just hide and pretend nothing happened?
My memory on that detail was off, I was there when it happened but its been months. I'm not "hiding," you pointed out what actually happened, what's to talk about? There's still the defense of chasers and the general hostility towards Hexbear users, so simply saying "blahaj had issues with Hexbear" is still a one-sided take.
Happy?
In my previous comment I asked you if you're lying or just didn't bother to double-check. You made no response, and I would describe that as "hiding".
It's the most serious accusation against Blahaj that you've posted, not a mere "detail", so admitting that you were completely wrong about it is a fair thing to expect. (Note that you're also defending a sub that would verbally slaughter anyone who would post such false accusations against them.) Not much more has to be talked about, sure, regarding that part of the story.
Least truth-impaired fascist.
This is the post defending chasers.
Whether you believe it to be defense of chasers or not, there is the thread where it was discussed on Hexbear you can read for yourself.
Additionally, calling me a fascist is childish, insulting, and wrong.
Yep, Hexbear had an issue with Blahaj, not the reverse. Not sure defending accusations of false trans-identity and chasers is the hill you want to die on.
I haven’t seen the behaviour that you are accusing them of.
Here's the thread where it was discussed.
I think I’ll take the side of everyone who haven’t defederated from Blahaj.
Ada runs a tight ship there.
I still think it was wrong of some of Blahaj's mods to attack Hexbear's trans users by questioning the validity of their identity, and consider that transphobic. I don't think everyone on Blahaj is evil or transphobic or anything, but I do believe those individual actions to have been bad and should've been called out by Blahaj's other moderators and Ada. Same with the Chaser bit, some trans people were fine, and others absolutely weren't, and rather than taking the side of the ones who felt it was problematic, they were shut down and silenced.
