MODERATORS

Hi comrades, I just pushed a big update to https://jumble.top/ with lots of new content (and some removals).

The new feeds proxy anonymously to the source content and are no longer a mirror of podking's feeds, which have been unavailable for some time. The feed urls have changed but your existing subscriptions should be automatically redirected, unless the feed no longer exists.

Please send any feeds you may have to collectivize. o7

The new feeds proxy anonymously to the source content

Hi, is it intentional that the podcast feeds now link directly to Patreon (patreonusercontent.com) instead of being served from jumble.top like before?

An example from the Trueanon feed (https://jumble.top/f/trueanon):

<enclosure url="https://c10.patreonusercontent.com/4/patreon-media/p/post/105937219/f89aade2d14a409ca3ec07e906eda4d0/eyJhIjoxLCJwIjoxfQ%3D%3D/1.mp3?token-time=1723420800&token-hash=SDhxbPe6gYCT3y5ubf-zE0tnj2Bi1tu4p9ctVRyv8WE%3D" length="94767927" type="audio/mpeg"/>

This has the side effect of breaking downloads in mainland China because Patreon is blocked here. You can still download through a VPN, but it's like a hundred times slower lol.

Also, thank you for creating jumble.top! I wouldn't be listening to podcasts if it weren't for your website. Other podcast platforms insert ads into the media file which really ruins the listening experience.

It's intentional to lighten the load on the server, as the patreon tokens are actually not user-specific so the content links don't need to be proxied. But I hadn't taken into account the fact that it might be blocked. You can now append ?proxy=1 to the feed url to proxy the patreon links. Thanks for the feedback!
