Here is a 'before' image from 19 August 2024

Loads of airframes on the flightline 14x Su-24

15x Su-34 (I think, @MilAviaUA confirm?)

What I find more interesting are the 8x semi trucks (~18m in length)

What are they carrying? Ammo resupply? Shahed

So much to unpack here!

  • The temporary hangers on the far right look to have exploded sending debris far and wide while also starting a massive fire. Were these holding aircraft that were fueled and armed with large bombs?

  • The ball bearings look like something we'd expect to see out of a GMLRS-AW missile fired by HIMARS/M270 but this airbase is way too far away for that isn't it as well as those weapons aren't allowed to be used on Russian soil (yet). Depending on where that hit, lots of aircraft on the flight line that look okay could be Swiss cheesed and now useless.

  • The ammo storage in the top right looks properly smashed as Ukraine has been successful with the same at a number of other airbases.

I'm giddy to hear the tally of lost aircraft from this very successful strike.
