its namesake resort exist in their location because natural spring water flows from nearby mountain ranges to create an oasis.

If its irrigated from a natural spring then wouldn't that water is coming out of the ground and will shortly evaporate in Death Valley whether there is a golf course there or not?

Are you suggesting capturing the spring water and hauling it out of Death Valley for some reason? Are you proposing something else for the water?

The bottom picture look like ATACMS boosters. I think they'd look like that whether they were shot down or not as the payload (usually cluster munitions) would be in the nose, yes?

Oh really? When you told me this earlier it was two computers, and you ended up accidentally walking on the broken remains. You were complaining about the pain from your fallen Arches.

How much is 25 lbs. of fuel savings worth to you? How much is it worth to Boeing?

United Airlines switched to lighter paper for in-flight use to save 11lbs source

From that article:

"With United Airline's 4,500 daily departures, it made sense to cut 1 oz. from its in-flight magazine, and switch to a lighter paper (weighing 6.85 oz.) instead. What this means in a larger scale, says the Times, is that the airline is saving 170,000 gallons of fuel a year which amounts to $290,000 in annual fuel costs."

It looks like this material is being used for interior cosmetic components, not load/stress bearing structures:

While the sidewall panel project is awaiting additional unique tooling and funding, Boeing is exploring recycled carbon fiber for additional cabin components, such as sandwich panels, which Wynhof said are used all over the cabin in nonloadbearing structures that don’t need to have the same sound-dampening requirements as sidewall panels, such as lavatory and galley walls, partitions, monuments and bins. She said the company hopes to test them in the “very near future.”

So things like the interior plastic "wall" you can touch when you're sitting in the window seat. It sounds like a good use for this material if it is otherwise scrap, and has better characteristics than the virgin materials they're using today for these parts.

I was thinking about why I stopped using Redbox and found it cited in the article:

"With theaters shut down, productions put on hold, and consumers cooped up at home, Hollywood scrambled. Major studios threw out their release schedule and prioritized their own streaming ventures. Disney postponed the theatrical release of Mulan for months, only to eventually take it directly to Disney Plus. Warner Bros. released all of its 2021 movies on HBO Max."

Redbox used to be a cheap way to see a new release that I wasn't willing to spend a movie theater ticket on, but didn't want to wait for it to end up in a back catalog in a streaming service. The studios fixed this problem for me, and I didn't really need Redbox anymore.

It’s worth the money. And it’s easier and faster if you do it BEFORE it becomes a huge issue.

I'll even underscore that this is worth it even if you aren't having problems yet. You can learn about each other from a professional that has no horse in the race. You can learn the tools of communication to avoid all kinds of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. There's no reason to be self conscious or embarrassed. None of us are issued an instruction manual on relationships. Why NOT hire a professional to get understanding in place?

I like that its green, but is really more strategic on their part. China has just a small fraction of domestic petroleum production of other countries like the USA or Russia. This means China is vulnerable to other countries that they depend on for petroleum imports to feed their people and produce economically.

Every effort to shift energy production (and storage) to domestic ways means less dependence on other nation's energy exports.

I mean aoc would be a pretty well known and liked pick imo.

She's not old enough according to the Constitution. Candidates running for presidency must be at least 35. She's 34.

That is a true statement. However, as the article points out they produce 90% of the world's supply of Rare Earth materials.

Tom Smothers, half of the Smothers Brothers and the co-host of one of the most socially conscious and groundbreaking television shows in the history of the medium, has died at 86.

The National Comedy Center, on behalf of his family, said in a statement Wednesday that Smothers died Tuesday at home in Santa Rosa, California, following a cancer battle.

“I’m just devastated,” his brother and the duo’s other half, Dick Smothers, told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday. “Every breath I’ve taken, my brother’s been around.”
