Fwiw there was an energy pill that gave people heart attacks sold under the same name. Actually maybe it was the same pill with different packaging and marketing. I bet that made for some awkward gymbro sessions.
Totally not related but I have asthma and the only thing that really works for it is ephedra. It is a natural herb that you brew into a tea and if are in the middle of a bronchial event and drink this you immediately feel better, better than any rescue inhaler and without the weird heart racing. I always kept some ephedra tea around becuase if I ever had tightness I'd brew the tea and be fine and it cost pennies, Albuteral is far more expensive.
Anyway, people in the US started taking this herb to lose weight and someone had a heart attack and they made it illegal. A natural medicine used for lung issues for millennia was removed from the market and anyone selling ma huang was forced to stop. Now it is nearly impossible to get unless you grow it yourself or import it as mislabeled tea from another country. So fucking annoying.

LOL I just looked it up to see if I can grow it, it is definitely already growing in my yard.
