Why do they care about us so much?

The average Hexbear post is pretty wild when you're a lib. I remember finding r/cth in 2016 and the shit people would say casually in the comments kinda blew me away. "Do it again Sherman" goes crazy with a Southern education.

Even then as a Berniebro they were a lot closer to my politics than 2016 reddit (๐Ÿคฎ). Funnier too

yeah i was a newly minted socdem coming from vague left-libertarianism that often posted in r/politics and kept hearing about how scary r/cth was.

so i made a different account to go check it out (because god forbid i get banned from everywhere for touching the forbidden subreddit)

some of that stuff shocked me a bit at fiorst but only took me a few days to realize everyone was far more progressive then the so called "left as it gets" libs. also there was none of that reddit smarm and "personal responsibility, FAFO" BS.

then I was riding the sub along with the pod during the Great Bernie Ratfuck finally made the stalin, lenin and mao posting no longer seem shocking but instead deeply prophetic

There is a spectre haunting lemmy socialism-spectre

I think part of the reason is that we're their reminder that they aren't "as left as it gets". Which is why they push the "redfash" line so much, it's how they cope.

the ops are usually libs who have been recently banned from here, misrepresenting their ban and admonishing others to "stay away for their own safety". Beyond regular ol hurt feelings i don't know why we stick in their craw so bad
