"National Security" or "Preventing Terrorism" would be my guess. It's what they do in so called "authoritarian" countries. US would also do the same if it sees its state power under threat or if a certain leader come into power.
How many years jail
depends on how he (or she or they (?)) decide to write the order. of course, American Supreme Court won't do shit. im going with up to 5 years (for no good reason, no trial), though its just a guess.
Reminder that indefinite detention of US citizens is legal, and became so under Obama.
Plus they can shove you in pre-trial detention and deny bail if they want to. And if they do let you out they can stick a gps collar on you and restrict your movement.
That’s not bad
It's all flim flam. Most likely they'd try to coerce you in to a false confession (a "plea deal") and give you a couple of years to make sure you're a felon, then let oyu out on probation in a few months or a year, but they could also send you up for a decade. It's all made up bullshit.
