You have a computer made after 2015, huh?

Some of us are poor. Windows is quite literally unusable for me because the laptop I have it on can't make it past the "pin" screen, I had a choice between steal a new PC or learn linux.

And now that I've learned I can never go back, there was a slight adjustment period but the ability to control everything on the system, the way it handles updates, the lack of bullshittery and candy crush ads, and ads in the file manager I hear they're pushing now on windows, the terminal which scared me when I started is now probably my most frequently used "app," the few windows only programs I need with no alts work in wine well enough, and if I reaaaaally wanted to I could upgrade PCs when I do have money and dual boot so I can still pop into windows if need be. And to top that, I was able to boot into a liveusb on the windows pc, mount the windows drive (bypassing my pin, btw) and rescue my files!

That's great! I'm glad you found something that works for you. Like I said, my laptop is running Linux (Arch btw) and I've had fun learning a new OS and I do enjoy the lack of bloatware.

I guess what I meant to say is that people act like windows is unusable, as in, they can't figure out how to use the OS like it's something very complex.

I guess what I meant to say is that it is when it won't load my desktop. And I mean I tried, left it "logging in" for a week before I finally gave up, and that was the last time after previously giving it "a few hours" and "a day" and I wanted to see if it would ever load. It didn't, so I'm calling that "unusable," at least for me and my hardware/budget.

Which is completely fair to say but does not mean that people here should shit on windows users in general. If it works for them, let them do their thing.

For sure. Of course, that doesn't mean I can't talk about why I like linux, or that in my opinion windows and microsoft suck, and they're free to do the opposite. Plenty of "PC master race" type communities and folks also do exist btw.

You should re read my reply and try again..

I'm just saying, unusable can mean multiple things.

That’s why I clarified in my reply..
