Heh, good for you!
I have only played Let's Go Pikachu, and then Sword/Shield. While I enjoyed them both, it didn't make me excited to try PLA or S/V, so skipped them both. I may give the next one they release, a try, but not sure yet. Will decide when they announce it.
I can relate. I don't enjoy every Zelda game or every Final Fantasy game and will skip multiple in a row. The earlier Pokemon games also don't hold my attention very well. My interest was someone piqued by Gen 5 (good story) and I've really enjoyed gens 8 and 9.
I am very curious about what the next gen will bring. I'm eyeing that Persona 5 spin-off too, but it's a series I haven't actually played before, despite its popularity.
Yeah, there are genres and series we love, and will play every game in it, and then there are games we don't care about that much...
If you are interested in Persona, just start with Persona 5 Royal, it's same as Persona 5 but with improvements, and one more semester at the end. But all the spin-offs are different genre, so just because you like the base game doesn't mean you will like the spin-off or vice versa.
That's really good to know! The games do look interesting. I mainly go for character driven stories, but I'm not sure if any of the games really touch on that or not. I really haven't looked into them, but the updated artwork caught my attention during the latest Direct and it got me thinking about the series in general.
Well, Persona 5 is a character driven story, so you should like that part, as for the combat and rest of the gameplay, you can watch some gameplay video to get the general idea.
Persona games are really fun to play. (Mainline games, as mentioned above, spin-offs are usually completely different genre)
