Is there a way to keep the "hot" page from auto-updating in desktop browser view? (lemmy.world)

Tried clicking "hot" since "active" got a little stale. Saw a few interesting links, but before I could click anything, they all got pushed down by a dozen new links. Is there a way to freeze it until I refresh?

It's outright impossible for me now. It seems like it'd be less drag on the servers to only update on page load/refresh.

I've seen a couple of people mention this already, so I imagine that it's on the list of needed QOL improvements. At least I hope it is.

From what I read there is a whole new UI coming pretty soon. Believe they said it was about 80% done.
