Can someone more science-y help translate what this actually means? Wife and I avoid the sun and stay indoors most of time, so we take a multivitamin that has 125% the daily D3 recommended intake. Not sure if I understand it correctly but it seems the warning is for larger doses?

Vitamin D is fat soluble, so you really shouldn't be taking more than 100% daily value.

This isnt entirely correct, yes it is fat soluble, however that doesn't mean 100% of what you are ingesting is being stored. The 100% daily value varies quite a lot, also if you're deficient you want to be taking more than the daily value. Also it's not universally agreed exactly what the upper and optimum levels of Vit D are, different countries have different guidelines for upper, lower and optimal.

It's difficult to overdose of Vit D, you would have to take a LOT.

Vit D is very important for bone health, and immune function.

Good points, I was oversimplifying.

If you don't have a deficiency. If you do, absorbing more than 100% of daily value will work towards resolving the deficiency faster.
