Don't you visit your parents often enough that it autoconnects?

I am guessing the idea is other people that do not come often but come for Thanksgiving will not have the WiFi setup or new devices, etc. and when they are there they might ask for it to which the father will have to search for the paper. If yourself ask for it now, he might have the paper ready then 😂.

That said... nowadays you can share your password from your own phone QR or the old way if you have it stored in text and showing it on your phone or directly sent it to them in a message (security aside in this case...)
