Well, DS9 it is then. I know it's hard to survive the first two seasons, but it'll be worth it.

Those first two seasons really aren't that bad. There are some episodes that are downright excellent in there. Duet is a masterpiece.

Start mid-S2 if it’s really rubbing you. Armageddon Game is a great intro to one of the best relationships on the show, and a good story in its own right. By the time you reach the Maquis you’ll be hooked.

Oh trust me, it has nothing to do with the first two seasons. I've seen episodes deep in. I enjoy a lot of the characters, the show is mostly amazingly well done, but it doesn't hook me like other Trek has. Doesn't help that one of the primary characters I'm interested in but cannot stand the actor of and feel like I'm insane because everyone keeps praising their abilities but I swear that a dead badger could give more of a convincing performance.

I had the same issue with a few other shows/movies over the years. Parks and Rec. I love the show so much but there's one particular character who I despise. Well, not so much the character as the actor. The character is fine and written well but the actor pisses me off so much that I have a difficult time getting into the show.

Also no I will not elaborate on who it is because my opinion above is enough to cause a potential shitstorm, nevermind then being specific about who it is. You'll also find it damn difficult to figure out who it is because I tend to hide the hell out of that opinion.
