Credit where credit is due: you can tell that this is an authentic family recipe instead of some intern making it up, because this recipe sucks.

e: here's a better recipe I just made up on the spot:

  1. Cut some whole ass onions in half.

  2. Toss with oil, salt, and pepper.

  3. Throw in an oven for half an hour at 200C.

Tastes great as-is for a side dish. Make a bechamel and toss them in that if you want to get on the Kaine Paine Traine, I guess.
