22yo defender was into final 12 months of previous deal + fresh terms secure him until 2027 - no option to extend. Worth ~£10m per year, no release clause. Announcement on Friday @TheAthleticFC #AFC

There were times last season while watching games that the thought crossed my mind "This guy might be our best player. Or our most important player....or both!". The fact we slumped after he was injured didn't go unnoticed either.

So, I'm ecstatic we've got him signed up. I expect Real and other big clubs will be sniffing around real soon, so no release clause is fantastic!
