I'm here for all the news on this. This shit has me so nervous and excited.
Imagine a world in whch we could get the source code for the firmware for most of the devices we own. Even if parts of these firmwares are not derivative works of GPL'd code and are proprietary, the SFC's arguing that all kernel modules are derivative works of the Linux kernel and are thus covered by the GPL. And, the SFC is going to argue that the entire build toolchain is part of what must be given in response to a request for source code. This is so huge.
