i don't know how to explain this but

i fucking hate modern car ... repair culture. that car looks 100% driveable and functional fish aside. but instead that's like thousands in repairs because the boutique part specifically for the 2012 line is rare and etc etc

like if your phone got dented a bit you'd go on with your life

but suddenly with this it's a huge fucking thing with companies and paperwork and money

I don't understand your anger, but I damn sure appreciate the energy.

He's right though. that front end is made of like 50 parts that they need to order. Then you're paying some guy labor to put it on properly.

Used to be much easier, also less safe

That would probably be written off in the UK

I would not trust that bumper to stay attached or the hood to not take off at highway speeds. It might also be crosseyed at night. Needs some ducttape, at least.

I just leave dents in my car. If it's functional, it serves it's purpose. I'm married, so I don't have anyone to impress with my car. Practicality all the way.

What an odd thing to be upset about. It's other people's stuff, leave it alone. It's not harming you either way. Besides, I see plenty of janky Nissan Altimas around with damage the owner/leasee obviously has no intention of repairing.
