I bet the (if my math is right) roughly 0.07% of people out there who have a birthday of February 29th run into so many weird one-off issues in software when doing normal stuff like applying for a job or a credit card or whatever.

Yep!

It's generally gotten better in the last twenty years it used to be real bad on the early Internet. Very rarely nowadays I'll run into a backend or frontend that won't accept it.
