Nah you're not an idiot. I kept forgetting to cancel my Xbox game pass sub for months ๐
Idk if it will help, but if you want to read an article that's paywalled, I use the website 12ft ladder (just Google it). You can paste the article URL into this site and it will remove paywalls and the like. It isn't 100%, but it works often enough :)
I did try to get the article open with 12ft but it didn't work. And unfortunately the WMT was the only one with an article on what I was looking for :/

Archive.is or whatever the URL is now is a good one too although again it doesn't work with everything
