Is this game actually good? How does it compare to Baldurs Gate in terms of story?

And the first one is currently $5 on Steam. 100% worth it! Makes me sad Steam doesn't let you stockpile game codes anymore. Used to be I'd have bought ten copies and let them sit in my steam inventory until birthday season rolled around.
