Also super off topic but: i notice you're pretty active and i wanted to ask if you've read society of the spectacle? Idk if you're much of a theory nerd but i made a post on the theory community and didn't get any responses so i thought i'd just ask someone directly. Was looking for some help understanding a particular paragraph as well as some wording ay the beginning. Would you be able to help or point me in the direction of someone or some place that could?
I wouldn't mind reading it! I was recommended it, as someone that's into Communications.
(I'm majoring in Communications, btw.)
Its fantastic so far but the author is french so he speaks in metaphor like 90% of the time. Idk if thats actually a french thing but it feels like it is lol. Anyway it means that i have to manually disect a lot of meaning behind each paragraph, few of them are easy to grasp at first glance. Its dense basically but im sure as a communications major you'll probably enjoy it
Im a physics major and pretty new to leftism so its been a while since i had to process writing like this lol. Throw some otherwordly calculus at me and i'll be fine but this shit is hard
I hope I'm not intruding here but I used to be very into Debord and situationists (my username is actually a reference to one of his films, in girum imus nocte et consumimur igni). Its been a while since I read through all of society of the spectacle, but if you want another opinion on a passage I'd be happy to try to help
