It's not the only article I've seen that is misframing this.

I have no problem with banning hard drug use in public. Or even just smoking weed in public, since many people don't like the smell. I'm fine only using cannabis in the privacy of mine and other's homes. I'm not a teenager.

It's throwing people in jail and then possibly prison for using that's the problem.

Knowing I can drive from A to B with it to enjoy in private is a HUGE change and relief.

Not to say I haven't gone for walks on acid in very large parks, but I'm also not making an ass of myself or being disruptive. Making people upset with me would probably put a huge downer on the trip. I just wanna see and be in nature. Being drunk in public isn't allowed either, you still gotta keep yourself together.
