Ignore the replies saying you did tag evan. If you look at the AP object, it's clear he wasn't tagged. If your intention was to notify him, what some random client does to the html later obviously won't do that.
ah thanks for this. So lemmy is doing something wonky then with how they auto complete tags in a description field and then are not actually doing what one would expect with that... Can you tag an account in the description of a post in https://azorius.net?
No (not yet), I haven't found a need for that.
Lemmy doesn't support mentions in post bodies yet. Only comments.

oh weird I just looked at it from https://phtn.app and I see it is indeed a tag. it doesn't show at clickable from the web view... I guess I need to spend more time understanding how the different front ends actually work
You tagged a Mastodon account and here on Planet Lemmy that Fedi language from the little elephants is still in consideration.

You did tag indeed, in the sense of just looking at the plain text of your post but it appears that Lemmy has not fully implemented all. Maybe indeed different front-ends having different implementations.
it works fine in Photon, so it seems like its just a lemmy web front end issue. I didn't realize till I looked in this other client that it worked
