California lawmakers are considering a bill that would ban CLEAR as currently implemented. Here's the logic for this bill.

The whole concept of a private company operating a service that bypasses normal security operations bothers me. Their service is for sale.

Plus, this company is now holding a massive database of biometric information, which you know they're monetizing on the side.

Good. Fuck that. I hate the clear passengers just skipping the line because they have money.

Interesting idea. I'm surprised that there's some bipartisan support. I do like the idea that people wouldn't be able to just pay to avoid long lines. That being said, how is that really any different than TSA pre check? If its a security issue (that Politico's article had mentioned), how big of an issue is it really? Like is there a large percentage of people getting through with Clear that otherwise shouldn't? Even then, why would this change be implemented, instead of enforcing stricter requirements for Clear?

Definitely just wish that TSA would be disbanded or have their process expedited. I think it's crazy that we are using government funds to make our lives more difficult, all while not really increasing safety.
