It’s Ubisoft, expect some out of body experiences for some of the npcs
I thought you're the ship, so no disembarking or moving around of foot? Maybe it has more single player content to compete with SoT at least, but I'm way past giving ubisoft the benefit of the doubt when it comes to making fun sp games.
Nah I have played, you can walk around on islands. This can be seen in trailers as well.
Don't forget a map that leads you to all of the DLC you haven't bought.
This went from a cool concept of "people liked Black Flag let's spin off of that" through years of development hell to whatever this is. Sucks, coulda been cool.
When first I heard about it, they were saying it was going to be like Sea of Thieves but better, after SoT had some disappointments.
It just looks like the AC3 sea combat. Not even modified - it looks exactly like it did a decade ago!
Honestly, I hope for the best for them. What the people developing this game must have been put through, if the rumors are to be believed, is just inexcusable.

I'm Out Of The Loop, could you please expand on what you refer to? You mean this?
Yes, basically. That article and the Kotaku article it links seem to summarize it well. Going through so many instances of thinking you are to close to the finish line, only for most of your work being rendered pointless in a day, and having to go back to square one... It must have been sisyphean.
Not to mention that those issues don't necessarily get transmitted to the customer, so you end with reactions of the "Eight years for this? What were they doing?" type.
I wonder, if that "Long live piracy" line is a warning from the devs.
Looked at the youtube vid. Was excited... then saw Ubisoft :-/
So it's finally actually happening? I've been hearing whispers and rumors about Skull and Bones for a few years now.
I mean, it was announced forever ago at one of the game conventions so more than whispers. It's been in some sort of dev pergatory.
Sure hope this game has come a long way since the last closed beta, if not it's not worth it.
If this isn't the first multiplayer game where you team up to kill whales, idk if I wanna play
