Is that copy registered or is it just happy to see me?

To everyone else who laughed at this: how are your knees doing, old timer?

[-] [email protected] 29 points 1 month ago

Now just because I recognize winrar I have knee problems due to old age? What a nonsensical, unfounded and ageistic assumption from you that is. My knees are fine, thanks - unlike my back.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

barefoot shoes saved my back I used to have constant backpain since teenagers, now I have walked one year with barefoot shoes nad my posture is better than ever and I feel some stiffness at worst. I do walk a lot and play disc golf pretty much though, but I did before barefoot shoes too and I still had back pains.

also worth noting I started using them at almost 23 years old

If you have lower back pain, mainly where the back and glutes meet, do weighted hip thrusts. My back just doesn't care about the things that used to hurt it anymore.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

sure but I get that just from walking, it activates my back musckes perfectly. I walk around 70k steps per week. those moves seem like a good excercise though, I'm just bad at keeping routines so walking is easier lol

What shoes do you recommend?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I like leguanos, I've had 3 pairs so far. but those are bit more narrow than some others, for me they are good though, those are also super lightweight and you can feel the wind on your toes :D bit expensivr but suprr good shoes, german craftmanship

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

I also have leguano, but wide feet. Got freet ones.

If there is a store nearby I recommend going there to experience what works for you

I just took 3 advil because my THC lotion wasn’t up to the task.

Shut up.

I walk every day, so they're doing just fine.

I predate WinRAR, my first file archiver was PKZIP.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

They get sore before it rains, now

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

Old guy here who's just to slow to put it all together, what am I seeing here?

[-] Technus 5 points 1 month ago

I dunno if there's a deeper reference to it, but to me it's just a simple visual pun.

You know how licking a lemon makes your face scrunch up?

The folder licked the lemon and it scrunched up so tight it's now a ZIP file.

The reason laughing at it makes you an old fart is because it uses the WinRAR icon.

[-] v4ld1z 1 points 1 month ago

Mostly fine, I'm only 25 though too :D

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

Serious question, why?

I see this all the time, but I've run my own tests in the past and found WinRAR to be both faster and produce smaller file sizes.

[-] [email protected] 29 points 1 month ago

Easy. 7-zip is open source. Enough said.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

Fair enough.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

In addition to being free, the 7z file format seems to achieve slightly higher compression ratios.

[-] [email protected] 4 points 1 month ago

7zip is free.

[-] [email protected] 19 points 1 month ago

I… I don’t get it.

The lemons are so sour they compressed the files?

[-] [email protected] 18 points 1 month ago

This is a spin on a existing meme called "Thour", where various animals or objects are licking a lemon.

Please refere to this link for references.

[-] [email protected] 10 points 1 month ago

I knew about the "Thour" meme, but still didn't get why the directory turned compressed. My guess is that by licking the lemon, the directory folds in on itself, thus becoming compressed.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 1 month ago

That'd be my interpretation aswell.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 month ago

It retreats its non existent head from the sourness, as if folding itself in, generally making itself smaller, hence, compressed.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago

That checks out - thanks!

[-] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Maybe because it puckers up so it's smaller?
