They were manifesting it into reality. You see, every good liberal knows that if you wish for something hard enough and repeatedly tell yourself and everyone around you that you will get it, it has to eventually come true. Fake it till you make it baby!

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and assume they were just guzzling their own koolaid about China's imminent collapse at the time.
