It's the Deluxe Edition of Battle Creek Brawl that I find a bit weird as we've already had the Special (is Standard) and Limited Editions.
Here's the back of my LE copy:
And here I have Frankensteined together what seems to be the full list of features, with the crossover struck out:
- Audio Commentary with Kim Newman and Barry Forshaw
- Audio Commentary with Frank Djeng and FJ DeSanto
- ~~Archive Interview with Jackie Chan~~
- ~~Interview with Producer Raymond Chow~~
- ~~Rumble in the USA, Jackie Chan Takes on America~~
- ~~Battle Hardened - David West on Battle Creek Brawl~~
- Rigid Slipcase featuring brand-new artwork by Kung Fu Bob O’Brien
- Six double-sided collector’s lobby card reproductions
- Fold-out double-sided poster featuring ‘The Big Brawl’ art
- Limited edition 80-page perfect bound book including Searching for a Big Break in The Big Brawl by Paul Bramhall, Battle Creek Brawlers by Brian Burkart and Coming to America, round one by Andrew Heskins PLUS, selected archival imagery, posters, promo stills and more!
The Limited Edition has:
- O-ring slipcase with art by The Dude Designs
- Four lobby card reproductions
Now the art is better for the DE and it has a poster and more lobby cards but they aren't going to sell me on a release. The audio commentaries could be interesting, as Kim Newman knows his films (even if this feels a little outside his bailiwick). However, I am a sucker for a book(let). It also looks to be a new scan ("Brand-new and Exclusive 2023 Restoration) so the picture quality will be better. Unfortunately, that isn't really tempting me to double-dip even if I were to flog off my LE and use the money to upgrade to the DE as it is a lesser Jackie Chan film.
