This guy Aaron Day has been working to raise awareness about how Bitcoin was co-opted by the Banksters. Worth a follow...

Going through this book at the moment, it is very insightful. Don't steal it though, support people who are contributing to defi and wanting to build crypto economies!

A quote from the book that made me see the importance of the CCS and crowdfunding in general for Monero:

For most cryptocurrency projects, not just Bitcoin, developers call the shots. And notably, software developers don’t finance themselves. They have to get paid somehow. Therefore, the real power dynamics within a cryptocurrency projects are determined by how its software developers make decisions and get paid. The history of BTC is a cautionary tale of what happens when the incentives of developers become misaligned with the rest of the network.

I figured having thousands of bitcoins he probably wouldn't require the royalties from his book to subsist (after he escapes from jail of course)

:-) it’s definitely very illuminating. The block size wars are very juicy. Here on monero land we’re the guy eats popcorn meme while they duke it out, but the also small blockers were so very dumb
