I'm ready for a new era in Mario voice acting of an Italian voice actor putting on a cartoonish American accent.

Best I can do is Chris Pratt.
I'm partial to Captain Lou Albano's mario.
Aw :(
Good for him though. He's been doing this for a long time. All the best for him <3
Mario seems like the perfect character to replace the voice actor with an AI. He barely says anything, and often it’s what he already said before.
That's an insult to Charles' talent. The man is a professional voice actor and his sense can't be replaced by AI. Replicated maybe, but not replaced.
I think the thing AI can't do is inspired delivery of lines. Mario doesn't say much, but the way it is said is very important. I think it would be easier to replace most characters in Final Fantasy games with AI than it would Mario.
As long as they keep paying him to use his voice
I guess this means that all the speculations about Mario's voice in Wonder not being Martinet were probably true.
i just went and rewatched the reveal trailer. it is absolutely not him in that trailer, but i really had not noticed until i listened for it. it's...weird. i'm not ready to move on from Martinet.
I guess Chris Pratt is taking over now, isn't he
Only for the movies. People have been saying that the voice in Super Mario Wonder sounds like someone else.
I'm hoping for a middle-age mario to show up, voiced by vinny vinesauce.
"eeeuuuhhh wahoo ey? Hope the princess made lotsa gabbagool because ah'm pooped!"
Remembah to wash under ya foreskin. If ya don't, ya go ta hell before ya die.
Yeah, I know it was a lame joke. Charles Martinet is still voicing Mario in Super Mario Wonder. The reason he sounds different is because he's simply getting older.
Edit: Apparently I was wrong, I saw the imdb credits and they list Charles Martinet as the voice actor, however Nintendo just announced that he wasn't involved in it. Damn.
I'm betting that he's recorded hundred of hours so they can keep using him for the next decade.
In closing, you people must realize that the public owns you for life, and when you're dead...? You'll all be in commercials, dancing with vacuum cleaners.

Very prescient
And then they’ve turn that into an AI voice generator.
2 days later: “Nintendo To Use AI Voices in Mario Wonder”
He's now going to be a Nintendo Ambassador or something. I wonder if this is just to change the voice of Mario while also effectively retiring him from voice acting so they don't have Mario voicing Bayonetta in the next game or something.
I figured it meant that he'd consult for his replacement and occasionally collect a huge paycheck in between enjoying his retirement.
From what I hear he is a super great guy so I do wish him all the best.
Damn. End of an era... Wa-hoo!
mamma mia :(
Who will replace him at being 4 parallel universes ahead of us?
Do we even know why? Or is this just a normal retirement?
He had like one thing he said, "it's a me Mario!"
Oh no according to tiktok (so you know it's true), he was saying itsumi, which is apparently Japanese for "Super".
