I would prefer if Microsoft spent hundreds of millions of dollars on promoting Xbox in those regions and THEN still failed to make sales.
If Microsoft’s plan is to focus on the U.S. and promote only its software elsewhere — as opposed to hardware and software both — the PS6 will barely have any competition and little incentive to improve its offering for players in said regions.
They (and Nintendo) are already not focusing anywhere but the US and Japan. Microsoft not burning money to sell to a market that's not interested can't make them try less than "not at all".
