where's the irony? if anything, this nutcase is being true to his word by choosing to leave what he doesn't love.

The irony is that he says "Love it or leave it", meaning "Love it or emigrate", whereas he holds the flag of people who specifically refused to 'leave it' in that sense (emigrate), instead opting to attempt to take US land to make their own sovereign nation.
