I support more gun control, and even I have to say this headline is a stretch. I've heard that his dad had LOTS of guns in the house. Even if there wasn't an AR in the closet, a 30.06 deer rifle would have had the same effect.

And all else being equal, Trump probably would have lost his entire ear or more… the 30.06 bullet is bigger, heavier, and the cartridge has a much bigger charge. Lots more energy in that round than the 5.56 NATO round that was used.
