MK1 feels like it is just out.

My only hope is that they accidentally stumble upon the greatness that was Trilogy, Deception, Shaolin Monks and Armageddon again by doing this reboot stuff.

Pretty sure this is a movie, not game sequel.

Ooooh forgot there was a movie, hopefully they fully lean in so and drop the audience perspective characters.

Deception does not get enough recognition, in my opinion. What a fantastic entry to the series.

The best game, Deadly Alliance laid the ground work for the improved fighting and introduced Konquest. Deception absolutely raised the bar to an outrageous level for the Konquest. I would love a remake or remaster. Preferrably remaster because I dont trust Boon to make an honest to god remaster under WB. The konquest had 6 currencies littered throughout that could be used in the krypt doe genuinely decent unlockables.

The closest I have gotten to that game and probably one of the best games I have played is God of War 2018 and the sequel Ragnarok.

Wait. Wasn’t there already a MK2 movie back in 1997 or something? Did I miss another MK movie? It’s hard to top the first one.

There was a Mortal Kombat movie in 2021. This is the sequel.

Wait that recent movie somehow did well enough to warrant a sequel?

No justice in a world where this gets made while Mad Max: The Wasteland gets shelved.

Wait, people like Mad Max movies aren't the same people who like Mortal Combat movies?

Isn't the whole point that it doesn't make sense and its just all aesthetic?

I was actually pretty surprised by that MK movie. Yes, it's occasionally a little dumb and I unnecessarily changes things from the established fiction, but much like the original, it's fun when it's bad and it's pretty cool when it's good. Also Kano is great.
