Hi everyone, this my first post here as a friend of mine strongly suggested I seek help here and even helped me make this account because it’s sometimes difficult for me to access internet or, to be honest, have the energy to make a post like this. My wife and I have been homeless for several months now, as Ive lost both my parents within a year and without going on and on about my life story we’ve basically been thrown from one abusive traumatic situation to another either having to leave all of our things behind or having them stolen from us. We’re both disabled, myself severely mentally and physically and my wife has severe mental health issues stemming from all we’ve been through the last several years. Im dealing with an infection from a surgery i had, thats lead me to have to prepare for another surgery, and leaves me unable to do much physically and on top of that we have no means of transportation therefore finding work or income is at this time not viable. we’ve had to go day by day paying for a motel room, praying we are able to scrape together enough to live from people willing to help. However, two people I can now call friends have been basically keeping us alive, and have both fallen on difficult situations themselves and have informed us that theyll be unable to help as much if at all for the near future, leaving us again to face the prospect of being on the street with no support, nothing to our names, and several mental and physical health issues. We are also down a food stamp card at the worst possible time, and the phone service I had through the Affordable Connectivity Program has been cut leaving us now with a $120 bill that must be paid within the next 3 days or else we’re out cell service as well.. I have also have a surgery scheduled for the beginning of next month, and hopefully sometime in september or october at the latest another friend of ours maybe be able to help fully lift us out of this situation for good, but surviving until then is going to be extremely difficult and Im frankly terrified and doing my best to figure out how to keep my wife and I safe and not worry her too much.
for reference, it costs us $55 a day or its possible to pay for a week at a time for $275.
Im so sorry for the length, and if this isnt quite what this sort of request should entail, but all that being said if anyone is able to spare anything at all any little bit makes a difference. Im acutely aware that most of us are all going through hard times right now, and I cant help but feel horrible asking for such help when theres so much going on in the world right now, particularly the ongoing g*nocide occuring in occupied palestine. thank you everyone, and solidarity forever
