I wonder if those attending the RNC ever wondered why there wasn’t a single former president there.

Clearly cause they are all deep state and Trump is soooo obviously an outsider to the elites.

The orange felon/rapist's wife didn't speak at the RNC either, did she - WEIRD.

I have been struggling with getting and giving dignity and empathy for a good portion of my middle age. I have really gotten very sour and bitter.

I know that seeing Trump act so poorly repeatedly ... even as I despise him ... it opened some garbage hatch in my head that I have not been able to shut permanently. It gave some part of my subconscious the right to be shitty.

And I am not having an easy time with rescinding that thought process.

Biden worried me his entire presidency. That was completely unearned as he has stood strong and let go of power a SCOTUS ruling made look like as beardless Gandalf refusing the ring.

I had somewhat hoped that Michelle against would run against Trump in 2016. But I do not blame her for having an 8 year window into that and saying no at least for now.

I had no idea that the Democrats could unite so fully again and offer a narrative that causes me to relax my shoulders and tingle for politics for the first time in over a decade.

Sling shit all you want at behaviors. People can stop being white nationalists and billionaire toe fetishists, they can't stop being gay or Mexican.

If somebody stops a shitty behavior you're shitting on, you're not shitting on them anymore, now are you?

I feel you, neighbor, I really do.

When that orange toddler took office, my partner and I saw the slide toward negativity and cynical nihilism in ourselves, and our city, pretty clearly —steadily even. We decided then and there to "bring more joy into the world", and even after starting a side business doing exactly that, I still found myself reacting to socio-political topics more emotionally, and more vehemently at times. It's been years now, and the deep-seated anger at the US politics theater (et al) has been a part of me for more than 15% of my life... but , it's gotta go.

Reach out if you need to talk something through or just wanna connect with another human that hears what you're saying. This isn't that other place online, and every good meatspace nation is a community first. I genuinely hope this is a turning point for both here, but at least we know the future isn't as dark as it's seemed these last several years. 🖖🏽

Sometimes I wonder what Mr Roger's would think of the trump era.

Edit: I fear all of my favorite PBS role models, like George Carlin, were a bulwark against trumpian rhetoric.
