The French president’s comments were directed mainly at the US and were part of continuing French efforts to revive its call for a ceasefire in Lebanon.

France provides few arms to Israel but is keen to strengthen its longstanding influence in Lebanon by showing it wants the US to put some genuine pressure on Israel to accept a ceasefire. Washington appeared to mount little diplomatic resistance when Israel – after sending mixed signals – rejected a US-French plan for a 21 day ceasefire in Lebanon announced at the UN in New York nearly a fortnight ago.

. . .

His comments brought a swift response from Netanyahu. “As Israel fights the forces of barbarism led by Iran, all civilised countries should be standing firmly by Israel’s side,” he said in a statement. “Yet, President Macron and other western leaders are now calling for arms embargoes against Israel. Shame on them.”

Civilized countries should never be standing firmly with genocide, irrespective of who engages in it.

He's worried that if France starts being vocal about it that the other blackmailed and bought politicians might feel inspired.

I dunno, genocide seems pretty barbaric to me.

Good for Macron, but it isn’t happening. The die is cast. Israel won’t stop until Iran’s nuclear program is destroyed, along with Hezbollah and Hamas. The long term plans are likely to occupy the West Bank as well.

If Biden cut off the weapons pipeline right now, Israel would have stocks to continue the war. And Trump might get elected because of it, and he’s actively pro-genocide and fascism.

Israel struck at exactly the right time. The US has no leverage unless and until Harris wins.

Unless Iran can pull a nuke out of a hat this Wednesday.

So Israel wont stop. Despite the total destruction in Gaza, Hamas still exists.

These goals are only pretense. Israel wants to genocide all Arabs in the extent that used to be the kingdom of David some 3.000 years ago. It just wants to do it in a way that its western puppets are doing most of the dirty work, because 7 million people cannot genocide 200 million by themselves.

Personaly I'd prefer SLAMS over hits out. Doesn't even make any real sense and just sounds so fucking dumb to me.
