It's beautiful!

Is that a drone port on the roof to deliver your motors?

You're definitely an architect!

I'm a dirty engineer, floating platforms everywhere! Here is my proof https://hackertalks.com/post/4670602

I'd like to think I'm an engineer, but if we're being honest, I'm much closer to chef.

[–] Blisterexe 7 points 2 months ago

I'm flattered!

The tower was not very complicated to build, the harder part was fitting all the machines in the limited room on each floor, and keeping track of materials between layers, as you can see:

That isn't a drone port, i don't have drones (or fuel for the jetpack 😬) unlocked. It's actually the hub.

Wait a second, I know that AzulCrescent!

I wish she would pick up her Webtoon where she left off.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

I miss it too, but its not like we've been starved for content, she's been doing little daily comics for a while now.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

Yes! It feels like it's been ages and I'm invested in the story now

I'm the factory builder who's bad at building factories

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

Also a dirty engineer, and proud.

In my MP games, I get things done. You want things to look pretty, do it yourself.

Last one is let’s game it out at 1% of his potential

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago

Hey... I recognize that spaghetti layout!

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 months ago (2 children)

This game looks like work. I play games to avoid work.

It's absurdly addictive, it's hard to explain to your family why you're having fun making spreadsheets for the game

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I eventually quit playing Eve Online when I realized that I was basically just looking at fancy spreadsheets all night.

[–] Blisterexe 9 points 2 months ago (1 children)

they actually built a spreadsheet program into the game lol

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago

It occurred to me that I was basically day trading in eve, and spending a ton of time learning systems, and researching deals, and that if I'm going to do that, I should do it IRL, for real money.

It’s ADHD bait. When I am on my meds, I get a dopamine hit every time I progress or solve something.

Nice job! No matter how big I make the floors they always seem too small for what I needed.

Join us over at [email protected] if you like, and of course welcome to cross-post!

Done and Done, thank you!

My tower is 4x3 then 4x4, it was definitely a challenge fitting stuff in there.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 months ago

Then you build up stators to help comp for that, then you build some skywalks between the two.. one of my favorite things is building cyberpunk style cities as the factory grows

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wow, it's like we're not even playing the same game. All my stuff is out in the open with tall stacks of conveyor belts everywhere.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

Still on my first playthrough amd my "factory" is a collection of what I had to build at any moment connected where it has to be for the next step. Other than a few rebuilt spots here and there. Last night was the quest for more coal and a lesson in power grid management. Next up to tackle is better water pressure optimization.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Very impressive. Now let's see Paul Allen's factory.

Sweats profusely

[–] Blisterexe 6 points 2 months ago

some of the factories on the evil forum are insane

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago

And here I am just making my motors by hand like a chump. You know, maybe it’s time I get off my ass and build something cool like this. Iron and coal processing and smelting on the first level, ingot splitting to wire on the second, pipe making on the third, have a vertical line that’ll start pumping out rotors from processing, then a bank of assemblers at the top floor to churn out motors and to line them back down.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I weep for the hours you've invested in this without even getting paid.

I weep more for the hours I'm going to invest trying to replicate this out of sheer jealousy.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I wonder if making a blueprint for the floors would be easy enough. Might make the whole thing a lot quicker.

[–] Blisterexe 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

each floor is unique in the interest of compactness, so it wouldnt help THAT much. (i didnt use blueprints)

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 months ago

I want to play this game, but i don’t have the tiiiiiime! Urgh :(

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 months ago

And it only looks a little evil.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I‘ll never be able to build stuff like that lol

[–] Blisterexe 3 points 2 months ago

sure you could! its not as complicated as it looks
