There are people that find these things attractive.... But I'm not sure you want to be with them

One of my favorite comments I've ever seen on big social media was "I like a man who drives a big truck, it shows me they have money!"

Which, oh sweetie no. It shows a high probability they dont handle money well, because that thing probably has a massive loan, with some probable godawful terms attached. Most people who are doing well don't spend their money on things that lose half their value as soon as you drive it off the lot. Now if they're a literal millionaire, maybe, but the venn diagram there is a sliver of people.

It's so easy to set up, just tick a box during os install most times. Then if you do rcline just use an encrypt on top of your remote, make sure your conf is backed up, and you're golden

Read the article, the problem is that kids don't care and don't listen. Teachers asking kids to take their airpods out during class, and receiving harassment back when asking. To me the kids proved they couldn't handle it (not their fault, it's an addiction device), but the school had to step in or it wasn't doing its job

It makes sense, I really like what this principal did, and he was fully aware that kids were addicted and were going to go through a withdrawal period. I think the pouches are a good thing, they may have gotten addicted during covid, but now is the time to end that and make sure the next wave of kids don't suffer the same. I really liked the results:

Gabe Silver, another eighth-grader, echoed that sentiment. When the pouches first arrived, “everyone was miserable and no one was talking to each other,” he said. Now he can hear the difference at lunch and in the hallways. It’s louder. Students are chatting more “face to face, in person,” Gabe said. “And that’s a crucial part of growing up.”

Some students hadn’t realized how much their phones diverted their focus. Nicole Gwiazdowski, 14, followed the earlier rule not to use her cellphone in class. But even in her pocket, it was still a distraction. Her phone would buzz five to 10 times a day with notifications, she said, prompting her to take it out and check it.

Everyone is paying more attention in class these days, she said. And it turns out that being separated from your phone for the day isn’t as big a deal as some students feared.

“People thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to miss so much,’” Nicole said. “You don’t miss anything. Nothing important is happening outside school.”

Am I the crazy one? Millennial myself. We had cell phones and got detentions for using them in class. When did that stop being a thing? Why is this a question at all??

You're there to learn. You sneak texts between periods. If we were caught our phone was given to the principal

World leaders: constant greed, destroying the planet for short term gains, destabilizing the world, starting wars, ignoring climate change, trending more fascist and conservative, clawbacks of rights

Also world leaders: why don't you want to bring kids into this world???

Tried that once. It was not a fun route to go down. If let's encrypt ever dies it anything fine, I'll look into it again. Until then, let's encrypt all the way

Yes. People like different things. Nothing wrong with that.

I'm misogynistic and want women to be subservient to me! Why can't I find true love?!

There is something about getting a couple of friends and watching a good trainwreck

Unfortunately all of them do, and if you don't give it to them they won't let you sign up

Taylor is working on a new record which is due out in 2025, followed by a new tour in 2026,” the insider alleged. “She is heavily inspired by all the new experiences she is having on ‘The Eras Tour’ and has been quietly writing songs backstage.

Curious to see how many people here are using Wyoming Satellites, and if so, what are you doing to build/house them?

I have a sample one working on an old pi and a computer speaker hooked up, with my primary Blue mic. Obviously this isn't long term, and I'm looking at building a few of these.

So, what do you use? Raspberry pi? Some sort of hat on it? What sort of casing do you use? Any really cool implementations? I'll take all ideas and suggestions!

(But it's also heavily on sale right now, for $15 - https://store.steampowered.com/app/526870/Satisfactory/)

Personally, I don't mind at all. For one I bought it at $30, but also I have 2,000 hours logged. Per hour that's a cost of $0.02 per hour (at the new price) if I had bought it at $40. I'm all for calling out studios like ubisoft for being greedy, but coffee stain has done a very fair job with Satisfactory IMO, and they very well deserve $10 more for the game.

That being said, go pick it up now for $15

Siddy Holloway is doing a special I'd really like to watch, but it's only on BBC2 from what I see. Will it be on a streaming service or anything?
