MODERATORS

The most Republican and Democratic cuisines, according to campaign funds

We scoured campaign finance reports to reveal strikingly partisan preferences for various restaurants, with few more polarizing than McDonald’s.

There's a ton of data in the article and I found that to be annoying. I just want the stuff that's silly or amusing.

Finally western politics distilled down to a single graph.

"I don't get my treats at lowbrow treat distributors. I get my treats from elite and sophisticated places for grown-ass adults like Panera Bread and Whole Foods." maybe-later-honey

Hey what do you know, porky does get high off his own proleslop supply.

The treats election

Your headline made me think they were spending to advertise or do events at different fast food joints

You're telling me Trump spent $74k on Fish Filets alone?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 month ago

Over a lifetime? Honestly believable.

Is this why taco bell won the fast food wars? A transcendence above sectarianist in-fighting? Enlightened centrism?

Taco bell’s bean burrito is the sloppiest, most delicious treat of all. It must cost like 20 dollars now but I remember it hitting the spot

Honestly I've been spoiled with my experience with authentic Mexican burritos to the point taco bell tasted like Ash and salt i had to choke down the one time I got it on lunch break.

I was actually sorta sad because I still had nostalgia for that dog slop stemming from my teenage night time antics years.

Haven’t had Taco Bell slop in a while but honestly, burritos are so underrepresented in Mex, TexMex, CaliMex cuisines at least in the states, which would otherwise have other amazing dishes, that I’m sure a drunken night will have you gladly savoring one of those barfdogs

Living up to "burgerbrain" quite well

Her colleague tweeted in reply: “If one of the 535 people who run our legislature is gonna spend thousands of dollars at a barbecue place I’ve never heard of, you better believe I’m gonna go to there.”

respect.

I assume it might be related to the political party of the owners or franchisees? I remember there was that ice cream company that people like Pelosi were really promoting and the owners were Democrats I think.

Yeah I'm a centrist

Culver's doesn't even show up. SMH, these coastal elite slop hogs won't even eat the Midwestern treats.

Capriotti's is so good

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I had to come back to this thread because my poisoned brain imagined Trump dancing to Rock N Roll McDonalds at a campaign event

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I don't understand - how can a political party spend money or campaign at a fast food joint?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

Probably catering for their events. If you're going to have your staff working a long shift on election night, having one big order placed at one restaurant saves time. That way, staff isn't worried about having to pay for their own meals and picking them up.
