What is Cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.

Aside from the unfortunate name of "Virgin Punk" (which I think is a terrible name), this looks like a fairly standard anime about bounty hunters in a cyberpunk world. It could be fun.

From the director of Kite and Mezzo Forte, if that means anything to you. It doesn't mean anything to me though, I've never seen either.

Ah. So it's gonna be one of THOSE, huh?

I remember being recommended kite by someone who had only ever seen the non h version. I downloaded the h version without knowing and was, uh, lets just say surprised by the recommendation

Those are porn. I would have to assume that Virgin Punk is not an unfortunate name, but rather a description of the main character that is likely to be changed rather graphically.

Good to know! I guess that explains why I'd never seen kite or mezzo...

And yeah, you're probably right, Virgin Punk might end up being an all-too descriptive name.

It looks pretty interesting! I'm really loving the art direction with it, too; so much cyberpunk media is full of muted, washed out colors, so it's a bit jarring to see such a vibrant setting for this type of world. Not too sure how I feel about the character designs, though, feels like half the characters have helmet-hair.
