SquaredCircle
This is the "official" Fediverse community for all things pro wrestling!
Come discuss pro wrestling! Any company or era is welcome.
Please ensure you have NSFW posts enabled or you may miss out on some threads. Bots are not used in this community.
Rules: (Click to expand)
1. Be Civil.
Users are expected to be civil and inclusive towards one another at all times. Remember the person on the other side of the screen. Hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and other inflammatory language is prohibited.
2. Keep content related to wrestling.
Any content posted should at least be related to pro wrestling somehow.
3. Spoilers.
Do not spoil events for people. If an event is going on, please keep discussion contained to the/a discussion thread for 24h after the event. Do not post spoilers in titles during this period. Use the spoiler function when you need to, it's there for a reason. Should your post involve a url to a spoiler (Twitter, YouTube video, etc) please mark the thread as NSFW as well so thumbnails are blurred.
4. Vague/Editorialized Title.
Please keep the titles of any articles you post clear, understandable, and indicative of what the article states within. It's ok to alter the title if the original is clickbait and confusing, or contains a spoiler like a debut that just occurred that day, but do not add your own thoughts to it.
5. Sexualized Content/'Plot'.
Please do not post any pornographic, 'creep shot', or similar adult-related material to the community (regardless of connection to wrestling). Wrestling content that involves sexualized content (in storylines/matches/promos) is fine, as well as photo's wrestlers post to their own social medias. Butt-shots you take with your cell phone at a house show aren't.
6. Banned Source(s).
Due not necessarily to the content of their reporting, but to their harassing and doxxing of users, the following news sources, journalists, and content creators are not permitted to be posted on SquaredCircle in any context - including direct links, articles, social media, and reports that cite only those sources:
- WrestleVotes
- RingSideNews
- Brad Shepard
- Billi Bhatti and "The Dirty Sheets"
- Any post or article citing one of the above as a primary source.

i started going down a rabbit hole of dark side of the ring episodes and found the chris colt episode fascinating, especially between the intersection of wrestling history and queer history, which pretty much my two favourite subjects. i haven't heard of him before but the entire episode was really good.
on another note, the sensational sherri episode was equally good but so heartbreaking (it also reaffirmed by belief that eric bischoff is an asshole).
Made a tiny edit to the sidebar: Changed "Gatoh Move" to "ChocoPro" and updated their link under Japan promotions, to reflect their recent name change.
Oh thank you! Had intended to do that last month and it skipped my mind lol
Was browsing on desktop and the page only half loaded, so the sidebar displayed as raw text, and I caught "Gatoh Move" in the corner of my eye.
Thanks, random internet derp.
lmao!
This came up in the locked topic... The WWE ID stuff... how does everyone understand it to work?
From what I've gathered...
WWE shows interest in a person but not enough to sign them to NXT. Instead they receive a contract that gives WWE right of first refusal, so if AEW or MLW came calling WWE could match the offer and sign them to NXT or pass on them. While under the WWE ID contract they continue doing what they are already doing otherwise.
I think PWInsider also reported some WWE ID creative/stories will take place in independent events, but I can't confirm that as I read it in passing and now can't find it.

Every report I've seen basically sums it up how you did, so you're spot on.
I believe I also read, if correct, the WWEID folks may receive a minor stipend per month as well to assist with their development, but confirm that in case I misread someones dumb idea as fact.
I can see them paying a little something based on the website info. They also appear to be filming content of these people to use in future video packages.
WWE will provide the most prominent independent wrestling schools in the U.S. with the "WWE ID" official designation, with the goal of guiding new trainees and existing talent at these select institutions with enhanced developmental opportunities.
WWE ID will identify the top independent wrestling prospects with an official "WWE ID Prospect" designation and support their developmental journey. WWE ID will give fans the opportunity to follow the paths of these standout prospects on the independent wrestling scene through curated, behind-the-scenes content, as well as highlights and matches showcased across WWE's social platforms.
The schools in question:
- Reality of Wrestling (Booker T)
- Elite Pro Wrestling Training Center
- Nightmare Factory (Cody Rhodes)
- KnokX Pro Entertainment & Academy (Reno Anoa'i & Rikishi)
- Black & Brave Academy (Seth Rollins)
They cover most of the country with those facilities.

So after months of troubles with Triller TV, I decided to watch Full Gear through PPV.com, and it was absolutely flawless. No stutters, no weird error messages, no problems at all. Downsides are that they charge a "service fee" on top of the PPV cost (not much, a couple of bucks, but I hate that idea on principle) and they don't support paying through their Android app so I can't spend my Play Store credit on PPVs through them like I can through Triller. Still, the experience is so much better. I think I'll be using these guys, at least until Max carries the shows.
Service fee's can suck my knob but hell if it works that well fuck it lol.
