Rules: (Click to expand)

1. Be Civil.

Users are expected to be civil and inclusive towards one another at all times. Remember the person on the other side of the screen. Hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and other inflammatory language is prohibited.

2. Keep content related to wrestling.

Any content posted should at least be related to pro wrestling somehow.

3. Spoilers.

Do not spoil events for people. If an event is going on, please keep discussion contained to the/a discussion thread for 24h after the event. Do not post spoilers in titles during this period. Use the spoiler function when you need to, it's there for a reason. Should your post involve a url to a spoiler (Twitter, YouTube video, etc) please mark the thread as NSFW as well so thumbnails are blurred.

4. Vague/Editorialized Title.

Please keep the titles of any articles you post clear, understandable, and indicative of what the article states within. It's ok to alter the title if the original is clickbait and confusing, or contains a spoiler like a debut that just occurred that day, but do not add your own thoughts to it.

5. Sexualized Content/'Plot'.

Please do not post any pornographic, 'creep shot', or similar adult-related material to the community (regardless of connection to wrestling). Wrestling content that involves sexualized content (in storylines/matches/promos) is fine, as well as photo's wrestlers post to their own social medias. Butt-shots you take with your cell phone at a house show aren't.

6. Banned Source(s).

Due not necessarily to the content of their reporting, but to their harassing and doxxing of users, the following news sources, journalists, and content creators are not permitted to be posted on SquaredCircle in any context - including direct links, articles, social media, and reports that cite only those sources:

  • WrestleVotes
  • RingSideNews
  • Brad Shepard
  • Billi Bhatti and "The Dirty Sheets"
  • Any post or article citing one of the above as a primary source.

A while back we migrated from kbin to lemmy because kbin.social went to crap. When we picked lemmy.zip I thought we also established an mbin magazine too but I can't find it now. Did we let it die too? Am I misremembering?

I only ask because #TIL that although for some reason lemmy communities don't federate over the mostr bridge, mbin magazines do and I hoped I could follow our wrestling discussion via NOSTR.

When we migrated here I set up like...5-6 other SquaredCircle communities/magazines on lemmy/kbin-mbin instances for the purposes of testing federation back and forth across numerous servers to try and find something that wasn't gonna gimp half our discussions (which is why we ended here since Lemmy.zip only defederates from a small handful of instances [like those who post CSAM and the like] and the response time was much better whereas a lot of other instances were taking multiple days to pull the data in).

Most if not all of them and the accounts related to them were set to delete once we settled on .zip (assuming said instance admins did indeed delete them lmao) so newcomers wouldn't find a dozen SC's and get confused.

That being said at no point was there any sort of 'mirror' or anything of the like (at least outside of the normal federation process if you wanna count that technically as mirroring the data). We officially kept the kbin.social community as our backup in case shit happened here and lemmy.zip ended up having worse downtime but once kbin.social died (and this place proved to be more than stable enough to not worry about needing a back up) we removed the sidebar link to it.

As far as NOSTR goes (I have zero knowledge on it so I don't know how it works) would the magazine need to be hosted on the mbin community or does NOSTR pick up federated ones through mbin? Like how instead of accessing lemmy.zip/c/memes you can use lemmy.zip/c/[email protected] or whatever to get that instances stuff, does it let you put in whatevermbinwebsite.com/c/[email protected] or anything?

NOSTR is its own protocol, like ActivityPub. But since NOSTR doesn't use instances like ActivityPUb does, people usually just say "on Nostr" I won't get into the tech stuff too much.

There is a NOSTR/ActivityPub bridge. https://mostr.pub/ (there is also Momostr.pink) for some reason mbin works over the bridge but lemmy doesn't.

Those last few weeks on kbin were ROUGH lol

Brutal even.

I got in the habit of Ctrl+C'ing every comment before posting in case if didn't go through. Because I sure as hell didn't want to type it all out again.

Oh man, I forgot about kbin eating comments. I was just thinking about the constant errors with the message saying they were going to fix it in the next couple of days for weeks on end.

Worst thing is kbin.social is still online, just...still perma broken lol.

RIP Ernest you in-all-likelihood-dead-yet-still-real-dumb-bastard.

Wow, I haven't checked in a long time but that's kinda impressive

I assume its just gonna sit there until the domain/hosting renewal comes up and then fizz out.
