Summary

Iran announced the successful launch of a satellite using its Simorgh rocket, advancing its space capabilities amid Western concerns about potential military applications.

The launch, from Semnan province, delivered research devices into orbit and showcased technology linked to intercontinental ballistic missile development.

While Iran insists its program is peaceful, its nuclear enrichment levels and missile advancements remain contentious.

President Pezeshkian has signaled interest in sanctions relief while strengthening ties with Russia.

We can forget about proliferation concerns at this point. If North Korea can make a nuke and a long range delivery system, anybody can. Things like opposing breeder reactors or propping up the Russian space agency are no longer an issue.
