First of all i want to clarify that its not my intention to shit on NRS for doing this but the practice of the industry as a whole
Has anyone noticed that lately games have "premium" or "deluxe" editions where you have "early access" to the game? "Thats fine with me" you can think. "If i want to play the game earlier ill just drop a few more bucks but otherwise i can wait".
But whats really happening is that you are not paying for early access, the company is intentionally blocking the release date of the game behind a premium edition paywall that can be scaled how they want.
Some games like Baldurs Gate 3 didnt have much reason to sell a deluxe edition since it doesnt have dlcs yet so they added the "early access" as a bonus in the deluxe. But MK1 already got a kombat pack and it really starts to weigh down on your pocket if you want to play a game that you PAID for in its launch
Thats my rant, just wanted to vent and say that it'll probably become industry standard from now on
